“Be kind, smile, and work hard.” These are the words people used to describe Macy. She was kind to all, smiled through everything, and was willing to tackle any problem head-on—even if she didn’t understand it—without complaining. This is the approach we take in our foundation; to spread Macy’s values and keep her memory alive through the work we do.
FoundationGoals
Macy passed away from an AVM, an abnormal formation of blood vessels that is present from birth and impossible to detect until symptoms begin to show, or it ruptures. M3 Foundation will support research to better understand and better diagnose these conditions so that, hopefully, in the future, it can be detected or better treated.Donate
AVM Research
Without the organ donor, there is no story, no hope, no transplant. But when there is an organ donor, life springs from death, sorrow turns to hope, and a terrible loss becomes a gift.
Lifeline Ohio
Donate Life
After Macy’s passing, we made the difficult decision to undergo organ donation. Lifeline Ohio helped facilitate this process, and because of this, 2 children and 2 adults were able to be saved. Every July, our family forms Team M3 in Macy’s memory for the Dash for Donation 5k. The Dash for Donation raises funds to raise awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donation, as well as providing support and resources for Donor Families, like us.Macy has been honored with a Memorial Shadowbox within the Lifeline of Ohio’s building. Additionally, the Donor Memorial in Lifeline’s exterior courtyard bears Macy’s name as a Hero of Donation. They also honored Macy’s gift on the 2017 Rose Bowl Parade with a rose on the Donate Life Float.Angel is an active Donate Life Ambassador at Lifeline of Ohio and volunteers throughout the community to spread awareness regarding organ, eye, and tissue donation.

Versiti
Because Macy gave the ultimate gift of life through organ donation, we decided to continue giving a similar gift. Each year, M3 Foundation hosts community blood drives in hopes that we can save the life of, or improve the life of, someone in our community. Look for Mighty Macy’s Memorial Blood Drives in January, in honor of her Birthday, and in June, in honor of her Organ Donation. We chose to partner with Versiti Blood Centers of Ohio because we believe in their message, and they truly keep our donations local. Versiti is the sole blood provider of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Marburn Academy
Dyslexia Scholarship Fund
Macy had dyslexia and tackled this challenge like she had with everything in life, with determination and a smile. She attended the Summer Program at Marburn Academy, an independent day school devoted to serving the educational needs of bright students who learn differently due to dyslexia, executive function difficulties, and attention challenges. Macy connected with it so much that she wanted to learn there full time. Unfortunately, she passed away before she could attend. Each year M3 Foundation sponsors partial scholarship funds for children to attend the Summer Program at Marburn Academy as well as covering the costs for dyslexia testing.
